Learn about some of the work we’ve done to help iwi and hapū, regional councils and catchment groups with the Essential Freshwater reform policy.
Iwi and hapū
We’re supporting iwi and hapū through cultural health monitoring, knowledge sharing and facilitation, and connecting them with local and national experts in mātauranga Māori, in freshwater management, or developing strategies and frameworks implementing Te Mana o Te Wai.
Regional councils
We’re assisting councils navigate Essential Freshwater policy with facilitation, internal staff training and capability building, along with expert guidance tailored to each council’s needs.
Catchment groups
We’re guiding community catchment groups across the motu, offering support and capability building for freshwater management, equipping groups to look after their local waterways for years to come.
